PanGEA is a voluminous software, the source code alone occupies several hundreds of A4 pages, which provides plenty opportunities for bugs to sneak into the software. Although I tried to avoid any bugs, using modern software design pattern and a automated unit testing framework (NUnit), I suspect that it is not possible to eliminate them all.

Despite this, I am pretty sure that the results are reliable as we tested them extensively using thousands of 454 sequences, test cases, randomly generated sequences, randomly introduced pseudo-sequencing mistakes; compared the results with statistical expectations and wrote automated unit tests for each core-functionality.
